The dataset behind the guides

See where the appliance numbers bend.

Six category ranges create a useful starting point. Eighteen repair patterns show where the bill can change the decision. The brand and state views then expose what a single average leaves out.

Six categories on one 20-year scale

One replacement age cannot fit every appliance.

The colored line is the broad working range. The dark marker shows the planning figure used throughout the site.

These are planning ranges, not failure probabilities. Installation and parts access can move a machine toward either end.

The bill that changes the decision

A compressor can cost fourteen door switches.

RF

A plain top-freezer gives fewer seals and ice parts a chance to fail. French-door convenience usually brings a longer repair list.

Bosch

Dishwashers

Category verdict

Bosch belongs on a quiet-dishwasher shortlist when an authorised servicer is close enough to be useful.

J.D. Power ranked Bosch first for dishwasher satisfaction in 2025, while ACSI placed it alongside LG at the top of the category. Yale Appliance also kept standard Bosch below a ten percent first-year service rate. Three measurements agree well enough that I would trust the direction more than any single award badge.

Ownership reality

Filters and drain paths still need attention. Condensation drying can leave plastic damp, which surprises buyers moving from a heated-dry machine. Replacement racks are expensive enough to check before the dishwasher is old enough to need one.

Three measurements with different jobs

A first-year repair cannot predict year twelve.

The site keeps service demand, owner satisfaction and working life apart. Combining them into one score would look tidy and answer none of the questions properly.

01

Early service

What needed attention soon after sale?

Yale Appliance reports service calls from its own regional business. That evidence can expose early trouble, but it does not count national failures.

Useful for: launch quality and first-year service demand
02

Owner satisfaction

How do recent buyers rate the experience?

J.D. Power and ACSI cover satisfaction. Controls, noise and dealer experience can influence those answers before long-life repairs appear.

Useful for: recent ownership experience
03

Working life

When does repair stop beating replacement?

Category baselines and repair patterns set the planning range. Parts access and installation still decide where one machine lands.

Useful for: repair and replacement planning
What the graphics do not claim

The state figures are restrained editorial adjustments. Brand ratings are judgments based on public evidence and service reality. Neither is a measured failure probability for an individual model.
